Before you begin:

  • To connect The My Virtual Mission App with Apple Health, read this article.

  • If you're using an Apple Watch, the data that comes through to The My Virtual Mission App is either daily steps or workouts.

  • An outdoor cycle "workout" will come through to the app as cycling. This is so cycling workouts can be distinguished from other workouts.

  • Other workouts that are distance-based activities will come through as a distance. These won't be visible in the pending distance section.

  • If you are completing more than one mission, you can set different posting preferences for each. You will need to follow the steps below for each mission.

How to sync workout distances (but not steps):

  1. Open The My Virtual Mission App.

  2. In the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, tap the menu icon on the right.

  3. Tap "Posting Preferences".

  4. Tap the mission name that you want to set posting preferences for.

  5. Under connections, untick "Apple Health - Daily Steps". To exclude cycling, untick "Apple Health - Daily Cycling".

  6. Under activity types, you can personalize your preferences by excluding types of exercise.

  7. Tap "Save".

  8. Before starting your exercise, select Workout mode on your Apple Watch, and choose the type of workout.

  9. Repeat for other missions if necessary.
